Linn-Mar's Jamie Printy refused to let a poor first half get her down.

Printy bounced back to score 15 of her 17 points in the second half and spark a decisive third-quarter run that carried the third-ranked Lions to a 66-38 victory over No. 6 Des Moines Roosevelt in the opening game for the Class 4A tournament.

It was just the opposite of the game the two schools played in the first round of the 2006 state tourney. Roosevelt dominated that matchup and won 57-35 en route to the state championship.   The Roughriders led 26-25 in the third quarter of this one before Linn-Mar took over, outscoring Roosevelt 21-4 over the last 6 1/2 minutes of the period. The Lions had runs of 10-0 and 8-0 in building a 46-30 lead.

During that stretch, Printy hit a 3-pointer, drove for a layup, sank four free throws and fed Kiah Stokes for two layups. She then drove for a basket to start the fourth quarter and threaded a pass to Kearsten Karr for a layup to make it 50-30.

Printy, a junior who has committed to Iowa, made five of her six second-half shots and finished with six assists and four steals. Jaye Hutcheson added 15 points for Linn-Mar, while Kayla Klopfenstein had eight points and five steals.

Linn-Mar advances to Friday's semifinals with a 22-2 record. Roosevelt, which was second at state last year after its title in 2006, finishes 20-3. The Roughriders were playing in the state tournament for the fifth straight year.

Sophomore Riley Norman led Roosevelt with 15 points. Senior Emma Van Winkle, who'll continue her career at Minnesota-Duluth, scored nine points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked six shots.
