It'll be a Cedar Rapids showdown in the Class 4A semifinals.

 

Seventh-ranked Cedar Rapids Washington beat No. 2 Sioux City North 75-69 in a fast-paced, entertaining quarterfinal game on Wednesday. That sends the Warriors into a rematch with sixth-ranked Cedar Rapids Prairie at 2:30 p.m. Friday, with the winner advancing to the state championship game.

 

   Prairie beat Washington 68-55 during the regular season. The Hawks advanced with a 47-33 victory over Johnston.

 

   Both sides had standouts in the Washington-North game.

 

   Alyssa Green led Washington with 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals. Micha Mims added 11 points, four assists and three steals for Washington, while Libby Glass had 10 points and five rebounds.

 

   For North, Tanaeya Worden led the way with 18 points, six steals and four assists. Jacqui Kalin scored 17 points and Likeisha Dotson added 10. Cat Nelson contributed eight points and seven rebounds for the Stars.

 

   Both teams pressed and played aggressive defense. North finished with 19 steals and Washington had 15.

 

   Washington rallied after trailing 21-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Warriors took a brief lead in the second quarter, fell behind again and then caught up in the third period.

 

   There were six lead changes after that before Washington went ahead to stay at 62-60 on Mims' three-point play with 4:55 remaining. Mims then made a layup after stealing the ball to put the Warriors up by four and they made the shots they needed down the stretch to keep the lead.

 

   Washington goes on with a 20-4 record. North finishes 22-2.
