SPRINGVILLE 46, NORTH BUTLER 45

Defending champion Springville had to work overtime to get back to the Class 1A title game.

Bre Oxley converted a three-point play with 34.1 seconds left and top-ranked Springville held on to beat No. 5 North Butler 46-45 in a thrilling overtime semifinal matchup Wednesday night.

Neither team led by more than four points in the game and Springville wasn't assured of advancing until North Butler's Bobbi Boomgarden missed a jumper with 5 seconds left and Callie Kloubec corraled the rebound for the Orioles.

North Butler had taken a 45-43 lead on consecutive driving shots by Boomgarden and Carly Jacobs. Oxley then was fouled while scoring on a drive and sank the free throw to give Springville its one-point lead.
